Need a new set of tyres for our defender 90. But I don't know a thing about proper tyre sizes and rims. Land rover just used for field use, so want the largest least ground compacting rims and tyers you can get. Spoken to a few others and they were on about modular rim's so the turning circle would stay the same?

Just some light rubbing on full lock but of no concern, little bit skittish on the road!

I have 6 brand new Continental 31-15.5 x15 tyres to sell if any good to you. Came with machine I bought but I don't need them.

I think mine were originally from a pair of drills, MF510, and I think Accord used them.
I got them off someone who had them on a little sprayer, and I think they'd been on something else before that. They're old!

These dident sell on ebay
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301919661147
Might be worth a message to see if they are still available ?
Have you tried your local tyre guy ? Mine can get almost any wheel and tyre combination you want, and is very keen with his prices.

These are on 10 x 15 rims even though Mitas recommend 13" for the TR-06

10 x 15 defender rims appear to be easier to get hold of.

I've just noticed the weights on that picture. How the hell do you manage to balance them?! :wideyed::scratchhead:
If I've got mine warm, they flat-spot just parking up for an hour, then bounce you like a bucking bronco when you get going again!:(:sick:
Had the wheels originally 20 odd years ago with diahatsu centres welded to a purpose built buggy similar to nowadays utv.
And looking through our wheel store noticed them with wheel weights on so told our tyre place it's been done before so can again!:sneaky::D
Not perfect but made them better.
@General-Lee @bovrill

Where did you get your rims to if you don't mind me asking
I believe my boss got them made up by Fieldens (name sticks in my mind but was 6 or so years ago!).

We have 31/10.50/15 on our 90 but have seen plenty with 33/12.50/15 on around here. You need an 8x15 or 10x15 rim for those sizes. You can sometimes buy the wheels and tyres together cheaper as a package than by buying them separately.
