Yes. Put myself in the opposite position. As anyone surely would . Thank you.I think this bit might have confused the ansty posters. I think he was asking how much his neighbour should charge him considering the neighbour has the kit and pasty doesn't?
What is that? I've pretty much laid out everything here. Dig it up and read it. You can be too honest sometimes. Go and dig up all my old threads. I've never told a lie. My pot is pretty large and if I want to treat everyone like pansies I will be well placed whatever happens. My neighbour who I speak of knows little or nothing of me. As I know little or nothing of him. I can pee where I like.Perhaps pasty hasn't got a pot to pee in and his neighbour knows it.
Then eat your sandwiches.Best part of farming is you can pee where ever you like

Can't be bothered to look at that.

Seriously. WTF is wrong with you people? You can dig back over all my old threads and see my tragic story of dementia, debt, credit crunch, business success, failure, this and that. Then you decide to turn a thread about topping a bit of grass into a character assassination. I've laid out the scenario. My position. The other guy's position. I just wanted a rough value so I didn't rip the guy off because at the end of the day I AM THE GUY who can claim the money. I may not have a pot to pee in but I've still got 50 acres which I'm sure will be sustainable if I pee'd over it for the rest of my life.
I'm alright. For all my trials and tribulations, I am loaded. More than 99.9% of this planet will ever be. I have my cash flow issues like anyone but I will never go hungry.
So pee in your own pot. I asked a basic question.
OK, Yes. Point taken. Thank you.Well your initial question was somewhat misleading because it now appears that neither you nor your neighbour have tractors or toppers.
Personally I wouldn't put the other guy in a position where he can get himself even further in trouble. He already owes you money, if he's 'borrowing' a tractor and topper to top your field, then he could be really up the creek if something happens to either machine while working for you, and you'd feel bad about it too, having put him up to it.
Just remember that the mere fact of asking can put pressure on people to do things they don't really want to do, so one has to be very careful not to put people in a position where they feel they can't say no. If you ask to do a swap, a 'money owed for topping done' type deal then he may feel he has to go along with it because he owes you money, even if he doesn't really want to borrow a tractor and topper to do it. A Yes does not necessarily mean he wants to do it, it could mean he feels he has to.
