Period implements for a Ford 4000

there is a gear for every job if you can find it, it does help that the engine has a bit of bottom end torque and can stay in that gear throughout the work, unlike having to drop a cog because your short stroke over square torqueless engine has dropped off song
The irony and hypocrisy John , you of all people talking about torque, exactly the reason why farmers here didn't buy the 1594's and brought Fiats instead!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:Can't say thats ever been a problem with the 4000 here, yet you seem to make a "drama" of it, but it appears you like to make a storm in a tea cup, for a problem that seems to only exist for you.....(y):D

Plenty done with other machines as well...jones, MF, JD, welger, riveirre casalis....

relevant....about as much as your previous post i would have thought

a blue jones baler would go well behind a ford....admittedly it would go better behind a DB with its superior spread of gears and twin speed pto, but thats another matter
Not over here, only balers here used in the 50's, 60's were Mc Cormack Internationals, MF's only turned up in the 70's and they were only few and far between. So your post is irrelivant, as are most of what you write...

So your telling me that all the major baler manufacturers except IH chose not to sell thier products in New Zealand, MF were making balers way before IH even started, and JD were not far behind them, but both chose not to market them in NZ?

I knew you talked a lot of rubbish, but that one has made me chuckle for its rediculousness

Im far from the only one to moan about how bad they were, if you cared to raise your blinkers and read some of the other comments from other posters on various threads....poor engines, bad spread of gears and unrealibale selectospeed boxes do seem quite common gripes with a lot of people who have experience of them

seeing as you know so much, you surely must have a reason why nobody bothered to sell balers over there

come on, do tell, id love to know, bearing in mind MF were exporting balers as far as Africa in the 60s, and no doubt others were as well

ive taken it as a long running game now, whats the most irrelevant thread you can find to mention a 1594 in....i have to say, your very good at it, very very good in fact

I have found a reasonable Ford 4000. It will be used for small jobs as part of my contracting business, but with a view to handing it down to my son when he is old enough. I would like to find a range of implements for it, what would have been used back in the day?
A Ransomes Cropguard sprayer would look just right on the back of a 4000, By coincidence I happen to have a nice one I might sell if you're interested?
