Have a friend who was feeding chopped straw through the TMR and was struggling with fat. Swapped it for NIS and it make a fair difference. It isn't cheap though at £140 I believe.
Location dependant. We're going to feed 1.5kgs. So less than a penny a litre. Bf is worth 2.2ppl per %. And the ratio is worth just under 2ppl. So if it keeps our solids up slightly it's a no brainer. If it doesn't then I've wasted a months worth of grub.Have a friend who was feeding chopped straw through the TMR and was struggling with fat. You can't buy feeding straw for less than 80, then process it and feed it, your at 100. Then they won't eat it because grass is more palatable. 140 for NIS. Blown and mixed with a cake, fed through the parlour with no wastage. There's bigger cons in this job.

We shall mix a bit of concentrate to start, and then just feed nis. If the cows are still milking well, then we will keep mixing the Concs in.Never heard of this NIS until now, would you feed it instead of a concentrate or would you still need concentrates as well?
