Steel size, outdoor pit

If there is a concrete pad on both sides of the wall I would dig a 1.1m X 1.1m X 1.3m deep hole level them up with .3m of concrete then bolt post to this before filling to top , if this is done separate to the floor leave small rebars set in to so slab adheres to foundation blocks.
So 1m in the ground.
If there is only concrete on the pit side then do a 2m long hole with the extra length going into the pit again 1.1wide x 1.3m deep.
In very firm ground less may do and the opposite in poor ground of course.
I would also reinforce the concrete slab adjacent to post / foundation with mesh and drill the web of the steel about 100mm below floor level then put a 3m long piece of 20mm rebar bent to 90 deg splaying out 45deg each way and wired to the mesh.
Make sure holes are square cornered , free of to much loose material and not boggy either.
