Mrs N leant over the gate to left and re-educated older bull.
1034kg at 120ppkg.
Bye!
We once had a similar "accident" when 1 stock bull jumped the feed barrier out of a shed and trotted out to the nearby field of cows which the other bull was in. Without thinking, really, I raced after him, told him off, put a halter on him and led him back in. It wasn't until it was over I thought what could've gone wrong. That was about 25 years ago .

He's basically allergic to most things
He has a condition called fpies which means if he eats certain things a few hours later he starts being projectile sick, to bile and then goes all floppy etc and ends up in hospital, he also has non ige allergies which is like your stomach cramps etc. They also now think he's coeliac after blood tests and he also has severe reflux (he's greedy and gets the heart burn as well as bringing everything back up ).

We go through good weeks but everything can flare his reflux up, like teething, a cold or his drugs being very weight sensitive so every time he grows it messes it up and then we have very very bad weeks (n)

We've also found after he has a bad fpies reaction he's also started loosing previously safe foods and he's very aware now that it's food causing him pain so he doesn't trust people feeding him or new things

Shame poor wee toot I can't begin to imagine what it's like for any of you. Fingers crossed the docs can get it under control

to a novice like me ,how do you use those bays?

tip say 50 ton and let it dry
I can either tip straight in but usually put the half steel doors in first and then bucket over the top and use a grain pusher to level off with a bit of manual shovel to finish off. Fan blows air up through grids so drys corn or osr slowly. Can use space heater to speed it up if needs be. 400t drying capacity and 800t storage on concrete on the other side.

Get home from running club about 8.30, do the usual handing over of child responsibility so that @mtx.jag can go finish farm jobs (y)
Off I go for a shower and put pj's on (y)
For him to come in an hour later to say my big horse has decided to go free range out to the cliffs with the tack ponies
Put my wellies and coat on, plan to drive out to the headland, check he's all good then bring him back tomorrow
No :stop:
As soon as he sees me he's running at me trying to get back out from there  legs cut :meh:
I then have to get him out, tie him to a gate, drive free lander back, run back to get him, then realise I've left the milking cows gate open for the morning so have to go back again
All in the dark :shifty:
And I didn't even have my phone to take any pictures of me actually doing anything other than fence moving :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Waste of time. Wouldn't trust any concrete layer that would do that. Mesh should be 50mm from top or 50mm from bottom so I was once told.

It'll be doing nothing for the slab strength will it. I don't see the point in carrying horrible mesh around if it's not going to be put in properly

Yes it hacks me off, it won't make much difference, it will still hold the slab together and it will only ever have a telehandler on it at muck out time. But I paid for it so it should have been done properly.

Cut out some bad concrete from a shed built in 2004 this week as well, what should have been 100mm thick was actually 50-60mm. Different groundworks company.

Add to that the PDRD shed in 2015 that never got finished and I can't help wondering if there any builders out there that do the job to the standard they are paid for?!

Having tyred the clamp this morning I thought I'd load the next lot of barley straw for the cows while I had a loader spare

20170517_123310.jpg

Then off to Tuckwells to collect the new back window and fittings for the 6310. Splashed out on a gift for a certain lad in NZ while I was there.:D

Fitted the new window tonight

But it took twice as long as I expected.:inpain:

Anyway, having had over 25mm of rain today I'm a happy farmer now (y)

Often very difficult finding trades I find....but when you find a good one it's worth sticking with them. I certainly don't know many I would trust to do a job without being there.

You'll never go wrong with @RWG Contracts though - quality job taken pride in, sensibly priced, and people who actually cares about it like it's their own and want to make it the best job they can. What's not to like?! (y) (oh, and a free mug....and a Christmas card and hamper!)

Bad service is worth shouting about.....good service is worth shouting louder!!!

fed the lambs again, cool here this morning and wet overnight
1495080564061.jpg
sun came out,
1495080586103.jpg
gave the wee boys a check and put a ram out with the old ewes on the lane for some sport
Caught Mr Dorper and replaced his harness, one of the clips had a crack I hadn't noticed. He's marked 8 so far though. Gave the lambs their booster 5-in-1.

I've just emptied the rain gauge and the rain of yesterday (33mm) almost doubled our total for the year so far!

In a very happy farmer this morning :D
You're up awfully early for a "rain day":whistle: glad you guys are finally getting a bit of moisture back in the ground.
Who'd have thought hooking up a mower made it rain ;)
