There are a lot of LED bulbs that are made with "normal" filament bulb fittings i.e. they'll fit in place of a filament bub.If not,you could get creative with a soldering iron ;)

Yes you can just get the base (H3, H4 etc) of your bulb and have a look on E-Bay, especially if you have single filament.
I'm not sure, but don't think they're that good, some of the other members will know more ..........

Err ,
LED replacement bulbs.
UNLESS they are SPECIFICALLY designed for the light / reflector they are going into, they can be sh!t, especially cheap eBay ones. Yes, lots of light & bright, but light is generally scattered & not focussed.
Much better to replace whole light with cheap eBay LED light bars or round lights. If you want to keep original lights, look at HID conversions ( expensive ) or maybe higher wattage bulbs.
I've recently replaced all the ( halogen ) worklights on my NH T8040 with cheap 6" LED light bars & a 24" LED flood / spot lightbars at the front for about $200 via eBay. The lights themselves were about the same price as replacement halogen bulbs . Not a lot of distance, but a nice spread of clear white light which is much less tiring than the dull yellow from halogen. Another advantage is that as they draw so little power, you can easily add more lights without much trouble. Wish I'd done it yrs ago. I did retain the 2 HID lights.
I've also mounted cheap LED lightbar on my WR450 dirt bike that I use for long distant desert trips - love it. Much better visibility of road surface in sand etc
The standard headlight on the WR was a 35/35 bulb. Useless. I have replaced it with a 55/65 over a yr ago with no ill effects but much better lighting.
Back to LED replacement bulbs. A mate tried some in his KTM 690 Enduro ( stock light not much better than a candle ). Very bright to look at, but sitting behind it the light was all scattered & no better. The replacement bulbs light source HAS to be in the right position in relation to the reflector & the lens for them to work properly

Led bulbs are a waste of time for brightlight applications the light output will be poor and you wont be happy,
I find led cast a really dark shadow too and acutally can make some areas seem darker.
A proper led light is the way to go if you want led lighting.

LED's, although they don't generate as much heat as fliament lamps, are very sensitive to overheating so they have to be mounted on a heatsink which will conduct heat away from behind the light emitting element. By contrast, halogen filament lamps run much hotter and mostly lose their heat as radiation through the glass. This means that while you can get LED lamps in the same style and fitting as halogen lamps, they are never as powerful as the halogen lamp they replace. OTOH, if you buy a purpose built LED light fitting, which is designed to deal with the heat from the LED correctly, then you can get similar or greater levels of light as you would from a halogen lamp but with a lot less power consumption.
