Today's biggest tractor price difference

Not going to dispute or defend the difference, but there are many factors that can affect this, is your UK quote for a new factory order? Vs a machine that could have been ordered in 2016 for all we know using very different terms by a dealer who has large stocking discounts and terms vs from a smaller UK dealer? Exchange rate at the time the german machine was ordered. Yes Germany is probably one of the cheapest places to buy equipment along side Italy and the UK, but comparing the two is actually more complex due to so many factors.

Doesn’t mean the UK is being ripped off, you may find that Deere lost money selling the German tractor vs break even in the UK for example....... Europe is generally not where the money is made selling such equipment......

The German model was delivered 2 weeks ago.

The uk one is a tractor "in the system " expected delivery is 8 weeks time ..

The German dealer is an average size, price is with typical discount

John Deere average rise since Dec 2015 is 30 % in the uk . If they carry on this year at same rate it will be 50% in 3 years there or there about and they aren't the only ones . Uk built trailers are roughly up 10% + in a calendar year

Exactly! Why are people paying those ridiculous prices. Buy a used and less advanced tractor that will still pull the implement for £40k and spend the rest on something that will actually earn you some money. A biomass boiler or a property to rent out for example.

Somebody has to buy new or there wouldn't be any used for the rest of us.

Quite agree tho it's nearly madness to buy new kit whether it's tractors combines or implements. All horrendously over priced.

so .. pricing up a John Deere tractor for a customer ..

Uk pice quoted £179500

Found one in Germany 90 hrs only, same spec £165000 euros (£147500)

£32,000 difference ...

Uk prices are becoming a joke.. and that's at a weak gbp Rate!
Joking apart the German one isn't new. I've seen ex demo with less hours sold.

90 hours for over £30k I know which I'd buy
I know which I'd buy too, but it's no different to new cars, soon as you buy it and drive it a couple miles home it's value has plummeted.
I'd actually be concerned as to why a tractor is for sale with so few hours. Could be a dog.
