Had a day out to collect our latest capability upgrade today, a modern fence post driver to replace our old mk1 Parmiter.

Many thanks to James Hayes of Hedge Estate Contracting, Inkpen. (y)

First impressions are that it's well built verging on a bit heavy. It's a shame they didn't fit grease nipples on the slides on the mast and sideshift (which I'll correct). Otherwise I'm looking forward to giving some fence posts some stick with it .

I thought the drop weight was pretty heavy at 300kg until James said the one on his Bryce he's replaced this Multec with is 600kg .

Just about dry enough to do a bit of topping this afternoon mainly to get brambles. There are some jolly damp bits in this wildlife haven as you see.

I would have waited but it is going to rain again and we have to be done by March 1st - who knows whether it will be drier between now and then?

First job was a electrical fault on a jcb 2cx then Got the rain gun plumbing fitted that I made and painted yesterday ready for pumping to umbilical

then a bit of makeshift bending action, two old steel wheels of a hay Tedder (think it was a cockphesant) welded them together staggering the spokes to give it more strength then dropped a bit of box into a socket we concreted into the shed floor, welded a stub shaft to it for the wheel to rotate on and a lock to stop it turning when pushing down on the box then kept clamping the box to it as we went and it turned out well, 40x40x3 box bent without rollers
