If you read their blurb the lanterns are short flight and 100% biodegradable with no wire, and a cleanup crew onsite. If its all true then no problem, but I have my doubts.

14 of them 'planned' in the UK ?

It's time the UK authorities showed some sense, and tell these arseholes to bugger off somewhere else.

- Heres a picture of one I found in a ripe crop of wheat in 2012.

Why is it alright to let these and balloons drop in the countryside yet if you drop the smallest amount of litter in towns you are fined or prosecuted

Looking at the harvest diary for 2012, that field wouldn't have burned on the day we (eventually) cut it

Needless to say, finding a sky lantern in (nearly) ripe wheat didn't improve the fettle.
