Re a previous post about knackered wheel bearings on bale trailer dolly, found out today the bearings are gonna be @£85 for the inner, @£245 for the outer, @£6 for the seal then the hub nut would have to be made then all + vat [emoji47] so plan B is to put a whole axle onto it which we have kicking about the yard anyway, so set about taking dolly off trailer so I can work on it easier in the work shop

Just need to get the gas axe and welder into top gear now to change the mounting points and get some new U bolts made up

Running out of wet weather jobs, so it came down to scrapping moss off the roof! Would rather be drilling though!
Obviously this is an emergency job and not planned in any way![emoji6]
@Poncherello1976 There are no doubt serious laws against spraying a low concentration of copper sulphate on the roof that would do a brilliant job - so whilst you are up there just leave some coper foil well attached to the ridge - it won't be a problem in future,

That's what they do. Drop them every spring and grow a new bigger set ready for the autumn rut.

You could have at least told him it happens if they don’t eat enough vegetables or because the stag turned round too quickly in a strong wind.

Heck, he might even have climbed up a steel building, missed his footing and fallen 25’ with only that minor scrape of lost antlers to worry about.

It doesn't look as though you are too far from base. Anyway sand land should be drilled up by now. My beet are up!
Luckily I was just at the back of the yard, it made a clatter and a bang so I stoped and couldn't see anything so thought I'd be best to get out of the furrow as I eased out the axle locked solid. The back uj has disintegrated, I'm just glad it didn't happen when I was going down the road.

There's very few beet drilled around here, were not on the pure sand like yours...atleast that's my excuse.

Making some new axles for it from an old bale sledge, uncle does the welding

Wet weather means we had time to put the drawbar on the vibroflex

Altering the track setting and trial fitting the rowcrops for when it finally dries up

and some delightful children decided it would be fun to do this(n)

Just to provide some balance from the belief that it's all big gear & vast areas over here :)

15 ha on the way back home. Tonne bulka bag of seed, no lifting gear so just cut the bag & shovelled it into the auger. Only 1 bag, so wasn't too bad :)

Still doesn't look like it will ever rain again, still in the mid 30's C as well

There is going to be a LOT of pain if we miss out on a winter crop this yr
