Are these trailed 5m Kuhn mowers any good?
Don’t think a relatively small tractor would drive them at a sensible speed. 5m would require a good 135-150hp to be on top of a heavy cropPersonally I think the lely design is better, two beds that both swing forward to fold, looks like it would follow the ground better than kuhns single 5m bed.
But I like the idea of both, means being able to run a fairly big mower on a fairly small tractor

Got 200hp. Have you got/had one?To get the best out of a 5meter Kuhn you want 180+ hp , on banks even more.
Have you got no front pto?Got 200hp. Have you got/had one?
Not on our current chariot. But next one might, then use it with a 3m front.Have you got no front pto?
Haven't got a rear mower or a front....Ah yeah. Was gonna say I had one fitted on a 718 by snowy. It was a second hand unit didn’t cost much. From memory he took it off an export one. Depending on budget that might be a cheap option in mean time.
I didn’t realise you hadn’t a back mower either. Probably not of much help then. For future reference our 718 handles two 10fts fine. Especially if your fairly flat land. An the 820 has a fair bit more go than a 718.Haven't got a rear mower or a front....
Was it reliable?I used to use one , its the weight of them that's the killer on banks , changed to front and rear 3 meter 160hp same out put on the flat ,more out put on the hills
He did. I've quizzed him. Need a few bits of kit. Need a mower for a bit of pre mowing, so if you can cut your own silage....makes sense.Didn't Pellow have one once upon a time? Thought machinery was the work of the devil that's why you got rid of it all.
