Oic ! traditional agents for hol lets are 25% greedy gits.

I was on 12% in Cornwall. No charge if I beat them to the booking, which I did, thanks to Google. I used to put everything on Airbnb 4 weeks before if it hadn't sold. Got me some extra bookings - so was generally happy.

I’ve used Airbnb when away on holidays and for work. So far it’s always been grand. I also host in my house and haven’t had any issues.
The money is paid after the guest have stayed the first night and seems to take a couple of days to clear but so far has always come through.
It’s a handy way to raise a few extra quid but there is plenty of work getting ready for guests etc.
Also I don’t compete on price but charge what I’m happy with and I still get enough bookings to keep me in beer and it pays all the house bills. Occasionally get guests who want to extend or come back and then it’s pound notes which is even better.

How do they do that ? can you explain that as i dont understand.
Seen in papers ?
Book and pay as holiday guests then sublet out to DHSS ,sex workers etc. etc . Here and Abroad on all sorts of booking platforms also allegedly ?
All worries us .
Like "get the bailiffs " or "The Sheriffs are coming" tv shows .
Family Holiday makers are fab but ALLSORTS out there be it fake or scammers or people who are not what they seem ??
Take care .

I'm a 5* Superhost. So far no problems at all. The majority of guests are lovely. Again the majority leave the place tidy. I'm paid in full the day after the guests have arrived. I don't do 'one nighters' as I reallly can't be doing the cleaning every time.
I'm not in a city & am on site to meet & greet so there are no 'funny' deals with prostitution or drugs! Or anything else as far as I can see.....:alien: Aliens, mud monsters......

Feed-back is important & I'm aware of the competition here so my place is always immaculate.
I provide all the things for a good wholesome breakfast & guests aren't into huge fry-ups so the cooker isn't a grease-blob which is pleasant. I host vegans too as our ethical rearing policies are the highest possible.
I leave days free tacked on the end of the bookings so I'm not in a rush to clean up for the next group plus if someone wants an extra day it's not a problem. I prefer to do any deal through the platform as it saves any hassle.
