Summer green manure crop

I've just stuck some left over vetch/phacelia/buckwheat cover crop seed into 2 small fields like yours. The Claydon smeared inch wide slots but I lightly disced the top a few days ago to create some clods to go next to the seed. I don't think much will grow until we get some rain. I was tempted to let the neighbours spin some grass seed on for a late cut or tow but I need cover crops for my stewardship agreement.

Is there any reason to avoid letting any of those species go to seed? Next crop is spring oats so 8 months of CC in the ground.

oats will do better if you do let them go too seed, radishes will be most awkward to kill, we have done it few times n the crop never suffers at all from having radishes growin amomgst. double bubble cover crop. Buckwheat will die in the winter with frost.. vetch hasnt been a problem , only one that I have heard of being problematic is phalecia going to seed, but I have never witnessed it being a problem in a following crop.
