Fly repellent for sheep

My Dysect gun is 12yr old, still works perfectly and is on its original seals and hose (although it now looks pretty awful). I tend not to use it much anymore, after getting a Vectocert gun 4 years ago, because it was always very stiff to use and hurt my hand muscles after spraying 50-60 lambs. But it's never done any harm. I see the comment about eating leggings a lot... supposed to spray the lambs not yourself. I don't see how you end up with it on you, other than the odd rub - you shouldn't be coated in it.

Crovect makes me sneeze, but no effects with Dysect - possibly because I use it outdoors?
I wouldn't advise doing ewes pre-shearing with it, but my previous post was in reply to someone saying they do ewes a month after shearing...

My concern about the leggings was more thinking that if it eats leggings like that, what is it doing to me, every time I handle the sheep afterwards.

Maybe i’m Just a sensitive little flower when it comes to the carrier in Dysect, but it messes me up even more than OP dip. That’s the main reason I won’t touch it again.

Aye but my point is... You aren't supposed to cover yourself in it, just the lambs ;) with a 7week withdrawal, I'm usually not handling anything I spray with it for 8wks minimum. Or if it's hoggs/ewes or young lambs for ticks, the cover will be well up by time I next put my hand on them. So in my situation it works fine and I've no concerns about the chemical.

But, if it physically affects you, then that's a fair enough reason not to use it.

Here on the tick covered hills of the West Dysect is an invaluable weapon in the armoury.

It's what keeps the ewe hoggs on the hill safe.

I've used it for years and I've never once ruined a pair of leggings with it. I've used it both indoors and outdoors, but I've never felt affected by the vapour. I'd certainly use it outdoors by choice though.

I thus far have no complaints about it as a product, principally because it really works and keeps the sheep safe, and gives me peace of mind.

Clikzin some ewes and didn't touch them until 1 week ago were as the ones that weren't down because they were wet at turnout, had terrible trouble. Clik extra'd all the lambs,

Ectofly gives me a headache. (n)

So it's that time of year again when maggots have got me pulling my hair out..
What do people recommend as a value for money yet effective pour on?
Got a lot of lambs in mid 30 kg range that I don't want stuck on the farm due to withdrawal times, are they all 40 + days?
Usually use clik but was not impressed last time!
Thoughts please
Good flee
Same experience as @Green farmer says about ectofly... I've had sheep struck within days of being treated with it, Ideally I want a product that kills maggots as well as prevents strike not one that does neither and charges well for it!
Dip them proven, tried and tested withdrawal is down to 49 days

Been trying to restrain myself ---thought i'd been so good waiting until page 2 !

Going to try a batch of ewe lamb shedders this year and run them alongside my Lleyn ewe lambs. See how they get on. Pity ye don’t have any breeders this side of the water.

Once you've fully converted to the dark side we can send you a Hi-index worm resistant tup over ---others are interested so i'm sure we can arrange something

If your not happy with clik/clikzin your not going to be happy with anything else because I’ve used several alternatives and always go back. I would love not to buy clik as it’s extortionately priced but it is the best.

Had a lamb with maggots today that got done with ectofly 2 weeks ago as I had an unopened can left over and it once again pushed me back to clik
