Crikey! Is it likely to be damaging?
Wind will lay some crops down I’m sure. But it’s the hail that can grind them to mulch and damage the kernels.

Had a bad storm hit home a few years ago and it smelt like the entire county had mowed all the grass at once. There wasn’t anything left but some stubby canola stalks for miles. Got a new roof out of that storm.

On the plus side, hailed out grains make good silage which might help out some of the cattle guys looking short on feed.

The rule I live by is NEVER go near any YOUNG bull with cattle WITHOUT A BIG STICK. Dad found out the hard way when one nearly killed him. And I mean it was a really close call:(:nailbiting:. You only have to whack them on the nose to show them who's boss. But if you have nothing to counter their aggression and instead turn and run, your fcùked until you put him on a truck:confused:
I have a fluorescent pink tube that was a giveaway at farm fielddays about 20 years ago.
Really good because it is so visible and it makes a great "light sabre" sound because I plugged one end with a wine cork (y)

As you said, all that is needed is to push back, and they know you're up to the job.
If you're iffy, then they worry - like in any business with unclear leadership....

Well, my fingers are crossed it doesn't come to that.

Quite staggering

and I didn't mean you
Did you get it to play?

Truly staggering towards the end. Apparently so many Japanese men and women get their kicks from internet porn and can't be arsed / no longer have the relationship skills / prefer it to a real physical relationship that the birth rate is tumbling. They are worrying that virtual reality porn is going to step it up further and it'll only be an elite that actually have the skillset to procreate

ok, ive had my little anti British rant & am over it now

I saw comments re shearing shed set ups, so I thought @Yale & @hendrebc might find this story about a professional shearer interesting

Thats quite impressive shearing at 8 years old. I think at 8 i was probably still playing with pedal tractors :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: merinos are meant to be MUCH harder to shear than normal strongwool sheeo too. Never seen one but they are meant to be covered in wrinkles :stop:

Even if it is a really sudden drop it probably won't be the worst thing that could happen in Japan, their resources appear to be less thinly stretched than a decade ago.

Yes, porn, interesting way to save the world but I confess that "Japanese pornography" conjures up... well, basically Pokemon in the buff :confused: isn't much of it cartoon porn? :ROFLMAO:

I need to get out more :banghead:

They are wrinkly. Your off hand does much more work pulling the skin tight - and the skin is super soft, it's not much of an exaggeration to say you could just about push your finger through it if you had a sharp enough nail.

Really different to "a normal sheep" in many respects, blade shearing them is amazing to watch... always leads me to thinking "wouldn't they be big if they filled all that loose skin".

None close to here but when I was pressing some of the farms at the inland end of our run had merino and crossbreds, the shearers with experience got on fine and good tallies out.
The learners and rougher shearers had a hell of a time.

Had our annual tb test today and they all passed (y):D:):happy::LOL:
Couldnt get these to move from the field :banghead::banghead: they sort of looked at me and went 'f**k off were comfy leave us alone' :banghead::banghead: had to get off the quad and push a few to get them to move and the top picture is the look i got for doing it  they moved after but werent happy about it they were queing up for the crush wanting to go back out  was much easier than pushing them through anyway.
Pissing it down now after threatening to rain for the past 2 days so ive come home for the afternoon. Today is a good day

A mate of mine used to go out to australia and america shering merinos he isnt one for tslking and just said they are 'different' to shear didnt go into much detail. Nit very common for shearers from here to go there to shear but almost everyone who shears goes to NZ to shear at some point. Maybe because the merinos are so difficult to do?

Not too sure!
Most of the merino shear is performed by the same crews year after year, and many of them jump the ditch to Oz.

In general though, our sheep are easy shearing by world standards, Dad would usually count on any 3 shearers knocking out 1300 a day, or pretty close.

Glad to hear you're tb free (y)

Internet porn has fkucked the world psychologically, men have got all kinds of issues because of it
Yeah, to a degree I guess it's true. Depends on reality a lot, some people just think what they see and hear and read and watch is real... this is almost a chicken-and-egg scenario.
If the farmer's paper ran an article saying Jimmy and Danielle Davis harvested 18 tons of wheat per hectare it isn't going to affect me other than I'd feel sorry for any twunt who believed it, same goes for porn or any other ulterior-motivated agenda-laden crap that is put forward for consideration!

Not sure if the damage is present before or after absorbing porn (or any other thinly veiled criticism, which is how cynical I have become)
Just struck me as really odd as my preconception of japanese porn is cartoon-based..... I can't see how that leads to those statistics for the life of me :hilarious:
