Clover before rape

I have a field of ryegrass planned to be drilled with rape this month. There is a lot of well established white clover in it (where its come from I do not know been in arable for 30+ years)Can I use this as a companion crop or will I risk smothering the rape if I do not destroy the clover. Will be spraying the ryegrass asap with Glyphosate.

How will you establish the osr? Cultivation will knock it back fairly hard & a good dose of glyphosate will kick it too. A couple of litres of glyphosate and DD and you should keep enough as a companion crop. Hard to say without seeing it.

It will be drilled with a Simtech I have now sprayed with 3l glyphosate grass is dying
already clover still green

4litres of round up won’t quite kill white clover

The clover won't show symptoms for another couple of weeks.

Rape looks to be strong enough now to stay ahead of the clover
