Clover before rape

I have a field of ryegrass planned to be drilled with rape this month. There is a lot of well established white clover in it (where its come from I do not know been in arable for 30+ years)Can I use this as a companion crop or will I risk smothering the rape if I do not destroy the clover. Will be spraying the ryegrass asap with Glyphosate.

How will you establish the osr? Cultivation will knock it back fairly hard & a good dose of glyphosate will kick it too. A couple of litres of glyphosate and DD and you should keep enough as a companion crop. Hard to say without seeing it.
