In the last 3 weeks managed to cut 15 ac wheat and bale 6 bales of straw
Got started again today
once round field with the combine and heavens opened again

So all of you that are doing a rain dance

I'll second that! Can't plan much in advance, big amount of silage to do. 12 acres of spring barley done yesterday... Looong way to go.

Allegedly September is going to be good. Although we're getting flash backs to last year where 'better next week'. Never happened...

I'm going to keep dancing in the hope I can attract the rain south.
Green, just, but still not growing, the hole I'm in is still getting deeper.

Was waiting for some rain so I could drill the rape. 21 mm last night, so now waiting for it to dry up a bit, but now it's raining again. Wish I had not listened to the experts and just drilled it into the dust.

Still very dry here, bit of moisture in top 2 inches and then dust below that. Touch of drizzle today and forecasted 5mm for Sunday, would happily take 25mm.

But then we have finished harvest and I want some moisture in the soil for the winter forage crops and for the grass to grow a little!

I did warn you all that the further north and west you were, the wetter August would be, and vice versa.

Down here its still as dry as the proverbial. Cooler for sure, an occasional shower, even the odd 5 or 6 hour wet period. But the ground is as dry as I can remember, still got big cracks in it,I've been moving heaps of spoil today, its like shifting piles of dry sand, even right in the bottom of the heap, no moisture at all. Grass has shifted a bit with what we've had but the tack sheep are eating it faster than it grows.

Yes that would be plenty thanks.

Hardly scientific but a wheelbarrow left sitting out had two gallons of water on each morning for 3 different nights this week.
