Just to echo what many have already said, it was a better show for the big players not being there. They are better putting the money to dealer days etc. It’s the smaller, more local businesses that I want see, and there were plenty there to see. Many interesting things there but for me it was the toe tip muck fork from B A Caulkett. Also a lot of specialist supply firms such as Kiowa with hoses and the safety clothing.

Was chatting to the lads at Tractair dunno if anyone seen the size of there stand, next to JCB
£10k that cost them for 2 days
Unreal amount of money for the folks to display there wears.
No idea how you sort that out.
JCBs must have been £250k if going by the size diff
Krone Huge Presence & Fendt & Deutz even.
Kuhn also.
Kuhn guy said there stand was cheaper than a add in the farming press for a month & more people would see them

think he said 20 K for the stand + electric & lights etc , was a great show very well done to every one who made it work meet some good people & will be there again.

That stand was easily over £200k to put on (after talking to there staff - we are dealers for them). I know of another smaller machinery company that spent best part of £150k being there. Expensive show, lets see if they all think it was worth it.

So how do the manufacturers actually quantify if it was worth it?

The small companies who were selling things on the day will have a fair idea if it was worth their while. And likewise the smaller companies offering sales and services will be able to trace the initial inquiry back to the show.

But is it actually that easy for a big manufacturer to do that?

Food seemed quicker today and there were a few outlets open that weren’t yesterday and I noticed a couple burger van type things around the show that weren’t there yesterday.

I repeat myself from another thread but we were well impressed with the set up. Sales people were keen to talk. Good crowd both days. People in Birmingham/NEC were helpful and friendly. There was a lot of stewards/staff plenty toilets that were always clean. From what we heard the set up was easy with the NEC people knowing what they were doing. This all obviously costs a lot. Jcb and a few others who had a merchandise shop will probably have eaten into a big chunk of the cost of their stands. The Jcb shop was packed when I was there.

We traveled in by plane. Could not have asked for better. With travel, hotel an food it’s probably cost us £350/person (drink on top [emoji15]) for the trip but I’m not complaining it’s been a good trip. Home tomorrow with a good chunk knocked out of January is never a bad thing.

look at it the other way spend 200k on a stand & with the price of things now how much extra do you need to sell in a year to get that back , maybe not as much as you think, one thing it has got rid of is all the car boot stands you used to get a newark

Would sadly suggest he was shooting from the Hip with that one there is no way on this earth they spend 200k month on advertising in the farming press that is 2.4 million per year on a turnover in the UK of in the region of 10 - 12 million, doesn't quite add up to me, sorry
I have no idea just what the guy said & not bothered about what they spend was a good show & I would be happy to pay the go to it.
