@Clive - do you see that picture of the JD drill!

@Dave Franciosy - which farm has that big John Deere drill with the seed hopper? Do you know the working with of the drill? Straight out of the USA.

Would be intrigued to know what the road transport width is. Did realise there were any of these in the UK.

The drill was imported in a 40 foot container :woot: it just fitted in it was a drill and trailer with seed hopper then the farmer cut and shut and made that 9 meter monster folds up to the width of the tractor

This one is a good photo of it

I've just looked through all the fantastic photos. Thanks for sharing.

What cultivations, if any, do they do in front of the drill? Do you know what the soil type is there?

The farmer is a guy called Steve Heard, they are in Market Harborough. The drill is to be used mainly on cultivated soil. I don't know what type of soil, I hope go and see it working this season.

Looks to be a jolly interesting farmer. Guessing the land must be fairly heavy as black-grass seems to be a problem weed.

Are you going as part of your Nuffield research?

Had a quick Google and this caught my eye:

Wonder if anything became of it?
