Hydraulic Side Ram

Is there a solution to know how far a hydraulic side ram has moved from the driver's seat.

I've seen people use sprung loaded string/wire attached to a ram and a marker in a place that can be seen. Also seen people use cameras on their plough so you can see whats going on...

I used a Bowden cable with an indicator in the cab

Is this a linkage ram, or crossshaft adjuster? My LH linkage ram indicator, and the leveling box indicator are cable operated with the pointers running either side of a scale. I can supply photos if needed. Cross shaft Is just a pointer running across a scale on the ram.

It's the left hand linkage arm. It is difficult to know how far the ram has travelled. Could you please send photos, thanks.

The cables are Peugeot clutch cables, if thats of any help.
