There was an article on tv about Bamburgh Castle today for those who don’t know anything about it, It’s a pretty amazing castle on the Northumberland coast which stands in a commanding site next to the sea .
Back in the day Lord Armstrong bought it .
Another quick lesson Lord Armstrong was a Dyson of his day maybe a bit more than Dyson.
So he bought Bamburgh Castle for 8K and over spent over 1 million on a refurbishment which lasted over 10 years.
He also owned Cragside house near Rothby which is the home of many of his inventions.

I believe Dyson is a similar type of character in my opinion.

History will be the judge not us .

Ps Armstrong good old Northumberland name

Funny you should mention Tax;

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
It's time to apply
The inheritance tax.

And Now they want a blooming Carbon Tax!

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world... We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class,a huge manufacturing base, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the Hell happened? Could it be the lying parasitic politicians wasting our money?
Oh, and don't forget the relatively new bank charges....
And we all know what we think of Bankers.
Very apt, but 100 yr ago a lot of these taxes were already in place.
And a tiny proportion of the population were prosperous, the majority lived in abject poverty which shamed us.
In 1900, 40% of army recruits for the boer war were rejected from the effects of malnutrition .
And exactly 100yr ago we had a massive debt thanks to ww1
