OK, substitute YOUR use of 'illegal' with 'legal'. It will not necessarily be legal once we diverge of course. Control of immigration is one of the flagship Brexit 'benefits' after all.
The only ones who wont be exactly the same as before will be from the EU and they will be able to come as tourists just as we will go there, if they work they will get caught out unless they work illegally for peanuts, and that isnt going to be huge numbers in reality is it and they could just come via Calais far easier and cheaper in any case,if you rent them property as the landlord you have to get proof they are here legally.
I have yet to see ONE reason why we need to put a hard border in that stands up, milk movement is one that will need a check if tariffs come in but even that can be sorted by knowing where each producer is selling his milk, yes there will be some smuggling but there always was

You're wrong on that - I do it frequently. Northern Ireland to Scotland is not "between two countries". I have never in my life been asked for ID at airport security and have taken well over 1,000 flights in the last ten years.
What absolute rubbish you will not get through airport security without ID and most certainly not on a plane, only last week we flew to ireland to see my best mate, I saw NO ONE get throught without their passport being checked at security and at the gate before boarding . The bit I posted wa from BA's own website

And the BA website part refers to an INTERNATIONAL flight. Northern Ireland to Mainland UK is a DOMESTIC flight and requires no ID, just as Scotland to England flights don't. The BA website reflects that and is about INTERNATIONAL flights.

"If you are flying solely within the UK, including Northern Ireland, you do not need a passport but we advise that you carry photographic identification with you when travelling, such as your passport or driving licence. This may be requested at certain points in your journey. Children under the age of 16 years do not require identification to travel within the UK." ba website
You will not get on a plane without ID end of doesnt matter where you are going, I see now youve backed down from claiming you have never been asked for it EVER

Have a look at this.

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bri...ub/1908118-acceptable-id-domestic-flight.html

Flyertalk is the aviation commuters' equivalent of TFF. I am a member there as well, albeit I don't fly as often as I used to (my record was 124 flights in a year - 2007 and I managed around 80 a year for each of 2008 to 2014) and rarely post any more.

To confirm, I have never been asked for ID when flying BA on a solely domestic itinerary. I have been asked on Easyjet and Flybe, as part of their revenue protection service and have never flown Ryanair, although I understand that they also ask for ID.

Back on topic . Vote even worse than I had imagined.

Tomorrow No Deal option will be defeated

Thursday compromise vote on extension to Article 50 may get through or TM may resign if she loses Thursday

Pathetic . All recesses should have been cancelled since 2016

I show the boarding card to the guy at the front, he notes it as being a domestic flight and scans my barcode, and then I take off my coat, put my laptop in the tray and walk through the metal detector. Doing it all the time, I had a pair of shoes that had no metal parts so I didn't need to remove them, kept my wallet and cash in my coat pocket or laptop bag, had trousers that didn't;t need a belt. Could be in the lounge four or five minutes after getting dropped at the kerbside.

It was exactly in the middle of the Sportingindex spread. Not a surprise to those that studied form, it seems.

Last summer, I had a conversation with a colleague about the whole no deal thing, and predicted that no deal would fail, brexit deal would fail and we would have to extend or revoke. I'm beginning to wish I had put a quid on with him.

So all those 1000 flights you have taken were domestic ? Which airport do you use

INV mostly, as it's closest to home. Not as many BA flights from there as before though - only LHR now, but previously EDI too. Lots of Flybe to MAN - could do a day return and manage 8 hours in the office. Some GLA-BRS with U2.

I doubt TM will resign.

She's the fall guy for the Conservatives regardless what happens .. she'll go in time for a new face for a general election.

She'll remain in place exhausting all options but her deal. So she'll attempt to get Parliament to face up to what is DOES want rather than doesn't .. not wanting No Deal means nothing.

So having got the answer to both an extension and not wanting No Deal she'll put her deal up again.

no, only easy jet, but I know employees need id to get in

Employees don't have boarding passes. I promise you, I'm right on this one, and have done it many, many times.

Tell me, who asked to see your ID for the U2 domestic flight? I'd guess nobody at security screening, but someone acting as an agent of the airline at checkin desk (if you dropped bags), and someone from the airline at the gate. You may have volunteered it at security screening if you saw a human at the initial comb, but not at the actual X-rays, as al they care about is getting your toothpaste into ziplock bags. Some airports don't even have a person at the first comb, just a barcode scanner. MAN T3 & GLA are certainly like that.

Cant remember at edinburgh but at bristol there is a two stage process, first you go through a passport and boarding card cheque which we have done every time either domestic of third country flights, then its the everything in the box check and of course before you get on the plane passport and boarding card, without both at the gate anyone( an employee who had got in with their ID) could have knocked the passanger over the head in the toilets and got on board with a knife etc. Never used U2 only easy jet for domestic flights.

@rob1 we are way off topic here. Can you just concede that UK domestic flights do not need photo ID, except where the airline requests it to protect them from ticket touts? Let's get back to arguing about Brexit instead?
