£40,000 counselling fund for DEFRA staff

Where has the money come from for this? Farmers waiting for payment from previous years BPS claims will need a lot more than this after all the stress they've had! My 2016 form seems to have disappeared from my online records, which is a strange coincidence when I'm owed around £2000 for incorrect analysis of non-compliance of the 3 crop rule. It's simply about them ticking a box!

3,500 people work at DEFRA, this would allow a third of all of them to have 1 hour with a counsellor. Doesn't seem unreasonable

If you halved the rules and regs, the staff would be less stressed. Farmers would be too.

There was a report last week that 60% of DEFRA staff had been swapped from their day job to Brexit preparing role. If you've been taken off your project that you might have spent years developing to get the UK ready to leave the EU you might be a bit depressed

Especially if you are then told there might be a further 12 month delay to proceedings.
