My newly discovered spring is now piped and running freely:
Photo-0023.jpg

I tested the flow rate, it filled a 1 litre container in under 3 seconds. So 20+l/min. I'm planning to fit a tank underneath the outflow, and then use that as a head of water to supply a gravity fed water tank further down the slope, for the sheep, instead of bowsers. I figure that if its flowing like that after the dry spell that goes back over 18 months round here then it should keep going all year round.

Day started off by recovering a broken plough. .snapped a pin somehow, then had to subsoil inside a 30million pound greenhouse, a first for me. Not much to veiw was more worried about hitting something [emoji23] was like concrete but got it loose enough for the diggers. Then back on to maize ground with the sumoView attachment 793088View attachment 793092View attachment 793090View attachment 793094View attachment 793096View attachment 793098View attachment 793100View attachment 793102

A number of the burying arms had been bent, probably from getting moved around with a telehandler! So straightened them and replaced some broken springs.

The old man happened! :cautious:
See page 4947 post #98922

Don’t be too hard on the old boy, I’m sure we all made mistakes when we were younger that our dads had to put right :)
But it’s interesting when you get older and the boot is on the other foot, my dad likes a bit of ‘job creation’ :D
But I’m just glad we are still working together(y) and I’m sure you feel the same way (y)

This year I’ve sold most of my grass for mowing, to the big dairy farm that I grow maize for, so only need a few cattle to graze the p pasture around the buildings. So I’ve gone for cheap natives, mostly Hereford x, a few shorthorns . A bit of colour to brighten things up.
