We have a few Goodwhone second calvers, she is the only heifer, but we went back to him again for more constituents, so lots of Goodwhone calves this year.
Any fantastic calves yet?

How often do you use it and how many cubicles/bag ?I wouldn’t use anything else here but stalosan, can’t remember what my last pallet cost but worth every penny
Thought you had a bacto issue, not sccOne of today's key jobs ... disinfecting cubicles to get to the bottom of our bacto problem

Today, we have mainly been installing milk meters - to test quarterly for Johnes

If I had bacto problems I wouldn’t be adding yet another place for bacteria to hide, in fact I’d be doing the opposite, stripping the parlour back to nothing.
Let us know how that goes.....It's not a raging problem per se but one that needs addressing.
However we are obliged by our dairy to undergo Johnes testing and doing sampling quarterly not only address that but also allows us to manage the disease out of the herd

Have you or son did both milkings in a day just to see if its human error or not? Have you many 3 spinners ?lBacto mainly but cells are leaping about too so doing anything & everything we can to get these down to bonus level.
I wasn’t aware of this. We started testing this spring and summer, fitting in between Tb tests, allowing 60 days between Tb testing and Johnes testing. Until this last twelve months we had never had a Johnes case, this last year 5 have died or been sent off. We have had a closed herd for 15 years, beef bulls only from high health attested herd , so can only assume it has come in via slurry kit from contractor. First milk test revealed about 10 reds.I didn't think there were any milk samplers that were clean enough for Johne's testing. I strip onto the pots here but it's an arse to do.
Sorry but I’m not convinced by this argument. It has tended to come from Herds who have claimed that they are clear when in fact they’re not in fact I know of one herd who went as far as blood testing ithe Cows after getting some reds cOnly for them all to come back as positive on the bloods. The more data you have over an elongated period will nullifiy any potential risk from the metres contamination.I didn't think there were any milk samplers that were clean enough for Johne's testing. What are doing with the tagged ones that’s different?
With bacto I would say there's anBacto mainly but cells are leaping about too so doing anything & everything we can to get these down to bonus level.
With bacto I would say there's an
80% chance it's the tank
10% chance it's the plate cooler
5% chance it's the wash cycle / air blaster
5% chance it's something else
