Xbred bull calf 26 days old. Trying to decide if it’s worth taking it and 3 mates to Holsworthy tomorrow.
It’s depressing when you do something well, to get stones thrown at you. :sorry:

All these ideas are great until milk price hits the floor then theres no money to keep to rear these calves at a loss i dont think thetes anywhere else in the world where farmers are being forced in to doing something knowing beforehanf there going to loose money just to keep public image good i think its now become a fad if one dairy or co op puts a standard in the rest will follow as there afraid of losing market share the farmer ends up paying.ive also not seen one protest or group complaining of the calf issue

They want people to stop eating meat will they dont think so they have told us for years that cigarettes soft drinks alchol is bad for us what do people do.Seriously has anyone seen a protest or any group complaining of the bull calf issue im convinced its just a marketing stunt between milk buyers to get market share. If people are so high on morals why do we buy our clothes made in china and far east cause there cheap no one complains of labour exploitation

Are you finding buyers ok or market?
I’ve sold mine privately this morning.
2 red limo bulls, blue bull and blue heifer. £200 each. Not particularly happy but no commission or diesel to market.
About half have gone private sale the rest are going to the mart but luckily it’s only 2miles away. Prices are crap but better than keeping them

is BBlue over used ? getting reports of a lot of cheap bb hfrs, some other cont crosses holding better on price, bb has been the choice breed for a very long time, and wondering if it's popularity is waning a bit, they are reliant on expensive feed to finish.
