Yes 100% correct. We’ve had around 6 crunch dates where we were supposed to be coming out every time causing slaughterhouses to slow down so they weren’t left with meat subject to tariffs and general uncertainty.
must be some confidence that we will come out now looking at store prices , a corbyn or coalition government could scupper that , as it will beat least another 12month delay by the time we get another referendum and dust settles

did it ? sheep were at least 30% undervalued since February and still are . it also delayed the carcass splitting rules being lifted , and trading uncertainty is hurting us going forward . at least if we were out we could be looking elsewhere to make up shortfall in trade .Bring on an election either way we can plan for future
Carcass splitting rules...what a bloody farce that is

Stores prices are fixed by farmers who have broken calculaters and lots of grass and try to outbid each other...used to do it myself but never made any money

Yes it did. Every time the government has lost a vote and brexit kicked down the road the sheep job jumps and vice versa. Exchange rate does the same thing and would be linked to lamb trade. Store cattle strenghtened when boris said we were leaving on oct 31st but has weakened with the reality that we wouldnt be. If boris wins the election but needs the brexit party to form a government the sheep job will nosedive again because the brexit party will force boris towards a harder brexit.

Sennybridge weaned calve sale this week and overall calves were heavier than last year but back £60, last year wasnt any good either. Steers av £697 and Heifers £590 , most would have been creep fed !

I think it’s more the case that the sheep job has been depressed near the crunch dates as opposed to any real lifts.

You know them do you? They don't seem to be posting! What was store lambs? like many ?

Nearly everyone on TFF knows farmerclare and henarer , they are celebs in their own right;)(y)

Same entry of store lambs as last week, top £77 head but trade was on fire and well up on last week from what I saw sold, ( especially for the stronger lambs )
