Bloody thing won't open, suspect it may be the valve that won't allow it to open when the body is down. Trailer not a year old yet, anyone got any ideas please?

This one looks like an electro magnetic switch, as there is s magnet attached to the trailer body, probably still a plunger stuck somewhere though. Thanks for the reply.Had the same issue on a triffit and it was as simple a solution of unsticking the plunger in the valve with a tap of a hammer and a squirt of wd40

I could well be wrong and looked for similar to what you described, no joy.Sounds a bit over the top for a safety valve, other trailer brands I have/ have used have a circular metal plate on a threaded rod (to make it adjustable to the plunger) and that drops on to a valve on the inside of the chassis rail/cross member, sorry I couldn't be more help
Yes it will only open when the body is raised over about a foot or more but it won't open at all nowSure it is not designed only to open when the trailer is slightly lifted, many were
Before you do any checking, do block the trailer body! Probably just a stuck PlungerYes it will only open when the body is raised over about a foot or more but it won't open at all now
Just had a look on the Richard Western website and it says about a "parachute valve" inside of the tailboard rams, as well as a safety valve. what is a parachute valve.Yes it will only open when the body is raised over about a foot or more but it won't open at all now
I have no F in Idea. I maybe should have a look myself. BTW I really do like the trailer and hopefully will get this sorted soon.Just had a look on the Richard Western website and it says about a "parachute valve" inside of the tailboard rams, as well as a safety valve. what is a parachute valve.

Hi, a parachute valve is a device located very close to the main pressure side of the cylinder. The PV detects a sudden increase in oil flow and closes the flow-back on the lifting side. This would happen for example if your door was being lifted and a hose burst.Just had a look on the Richard Western website and it says about a "parachute valve" inside of the tailboard rams, as well as a safety valve. what is a parachute valve.
