IMO his problem is he is a big picture and grand statement man, which is fine if you surround yourself with strong ministers who can back you up and fill in the details. Unfortunately, he has failed to do this, not entirely though his own fault but the fact the party is simply lacking this level of talent nowadays. You only have to look at the sad specimens wheeled out everyday for the 5 o'clock briefing to realise this.

Part of his problem is that he got rid of anyone from his cabinet who was critical of Brexit and is left with some poor performers.

If Theresa May had done what she promised to do Boris wouldn't have been near the job. She had one job, remember no deal is better than a bad deal? she gave us the agreement for a bad deal and left others to sort it out. Too many bailed out when they should have carried out the will of the people. Rory Stewart should have had a major role now, he was the most gifted in the Cabinet and should have been the next Prime Minister but as said, we aren't left with much.

He got a hammering in the Commons today off Starmer, who did quite well.It will be sinking in now that it is going to be a whole different ball game with a competent opposition leader. My guess is that Johnson will try and avoid PMQ s as much as possible and get deputies to stand in for him while making any excuse up.

I’d be surprised if Johnson will ever come out on top in an argument with Starmer. Starmer has had a career of getting the facts right, whereas Johnson has had a career of bluster and lies.
Starmer didn’t get his facts right yesterday did he.he just another slimy lawyer type like Blair was but starmer got plenty of skeletons in his cupboard to come out later

If Starmer gets his policies right, and only time will tell if he can control the hard left and move more to the centre into the 'Blair'ground, Boris will be dumped by the Tories and replaced long before the next election. My view is that he will soon become a liability having served his Brexit purpose.

Boris is a professional liar, that's what he has always done for a living. He is now going to have to learn to tell the truth a bit more often.

You're right he let himself down by sticking to his stupid principles rather than to his duty but I already sort of said that but if you look him up he was probably the most qualified and just as important, the most intelligent MP in the last Parliament but he should have kept away from the last leadership battle as he was out of step with the country on Brexit. In the wilderness now when we need his qualities.

Kier Starmer will get buried when some home truths come out , not yet though.
