Nice set up! We demo’d a pottinger 2 years running and finally bought one last year. Also got a shot of their triples demo on a T7.245 with gps which was amazing.

Didnt actually try any other makes, love the way this follows the ground.
Thank you

Front mower came first bought partly in transport width for devon lanes. Rear was due for replacement, had a 3.2 m lely before it's in the classifieds if anyone interested, good condition all new blades and ready to go, so we had no hesitation in going with the pottinger again.
Both ride as smooth as, nice clean cut.
Tedders we looked at various brands and parts cost. One we did like time price was 3 times pottingers. So son decided he liked the pottinger and he shook hands. I also told him to call the others that quoted and say thanks but no thanks this time.

Have you ever tried a forage wagon? We went from being very happy with a trailed chopper to a forage wagon and it's the best thing we have done, so much simpler than whatever running the drag chopper was
Do a bit of both here, get a contractor in with wagon to do the 90 acres closest to home whilst we ted, mow and rake, then use our forager to lift 50 acres furthest from home. Hope to start mowing tomorrow so will get some pics up

How many acres an hour can you chop with that?
We are back to a trailed tomorrow.
SP we just cant deal with in clamp and consolidate like I want.
Looking forward to a steady day instead of a rush!
Seems to be a lot of guys over look how fast there pits get filled! Most important job in the process is packing well. Once it’s in you can’t change it..

You could save yourself a drive through with a tedder for a start!
But I know plenty with a conditioner that ted as well some even twice!
I have a lot of clover and want to preserve that valuable feed. Cut quick and get it ted out asap.
Never had any grass cut with a conditioner on the farm IIRC. Some cut and conditioned the same time as mine on Sunday and not tedded out they struggled to get into the trailers and consolidate yesterday.

But each to their own.

We’re knocking on 30 days regrowth now. Suspect it’s poor but going to send the plate meter girl out and see. Atleast I can make an informed decision then.
So what decision did you take from the plate meter readings? We are on same regrowth stage and think we will mow some on Fri and then the rest next Mon / Tue if weather is right

its going to be expensive silage to make but it’s coming off. Might leave 15 acre that’s just properly sh!t that we’veonly just taken on reading 2200. The rest was averaging 3400 but heads there already. Seems like madness to let it all go to sh!t.

edit I’ve taken samples so will post results when I get them.
