The Drought

Bigger farm with Christmas trees and commercial grain storage as well as the arable. Just thought it was time for a change. I don't want many more of these before I retire and the current farm is shrinking every year with other demands on the land, none of which pay the rent.

Good luck in your new job. It's a long way from here to there......you are aware of that?

Is that direction where you are originally from?

Getting excited tonight, although I have had my hopes dashed several times in the past 10 days... ?

Wellington - Thursday
Dense overcast. Rain likely. High 13°C. Wind chill around 9. Wind east-northeast around 13 mph, gusting to 23 mph, in the morning, becoming 18 mph, gusting to 28 mph, in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 70 percent. Precipitation mostly between 5 and 10 mm.

Drill for re-seeding game and cover crops is poised....

From the weather comment in the Times today, this year very similar to 1956.Driest May on record(up to this year) followed by terrible wet and stormy June,July, and August. It picked up in September, which turned out to be warmer than August.
