Yield on first bit of hay was OK, a bit nervous that it was only 6 days down though, no reading on the hay-meter (therefore below 10%) and it broke after 3 twists. - A hank of hay I mean, not the hay-meter

So what is hay trading at?
And straw?
Now that's a good question . In early May hay was as cheap as chips . Then they switch the Friers on and it shot through tut roof , but then it rained and orders were cancelled and trade went quiet . So it's sort of stuck in no mans land
As for straw . Lot talking the trade up , I dont know , lot will depend on the weather at harvest , if it's a damp one then a lot will get chopped , it will start off dear, but most of my customers have stocked up , will the trade be there to buy it , who knows

I'm going to have 30% of the straw I had last year and half the hay .
Apart from my Timothy hay which is all sold,I have chopped all my 1st cut . Gone to dairy farms . No point adding to the mountain of fodder that did not sell last year and with grass up to your eye balls now the mountain can only get higher , you see how then you cant predict the market . Your short, we have to much
