Old mill - wossit worth?

Hi all,

We've had a big old mill cluttering the 'home' workshop for a decade or more, but have never got round to even wiring it in. Father has (rightly) decided it's got to go. Clearly we have neither the time, knowledge or inclination to use it any sense.

Question is, would it be a crime to scrap it? Or should we be trying to find a working home for it?

You should be selling that, if it’s single phase it will be gone in no time. Try it on here? Ebay? facebook? as to value I’m not sure, unfortunately not a lot but a lot more than scrap.

That mill with a clean up would make good money,put an add on the home workshop site,adds are free

Looks like a Arno 1V to me & It would be a criminal act to scrap it - definitely ought to be worth more than scrap! I don't think it's worth huge amounts as spares aren't as widely available compared to the more common machines such as bridgeport etc., nor is it as widely recognised as a decent machine. Table & bedway conditions will also affect the value. I don't know what the actual value is likely to be, but I would be interested depending on the price & location.

Blimey, two potential offers, and this wasn't even one of those posts where people pretend not to be advertising something, but actually are.

Guess we won't be weighing it in then. If anyone genuinely is interested, please PM me. If not, it'll probably be going on eBay and classifieds here. Location is Salisbury Plain.

I'm genuinely interested, but transport is my big issue. Salisbury is a bit of a trek & I don't have a tow bar any more.
