now i write it down it doesn't sound a frantic day....but it was :scratchhead:

mrs spin had got behind with her barn changeovers after yesterdays ice cream frenzy so first up i helped her by hoovering her holiday barn in bale.....checking both lots of sheep....both water ibc s nearly empty :banghead: .....back at farm main flocks ibc the same:rolleyes:.......so rest of morning spent hauling water...checking sheep....two lambs struck:banghead:.....i must admit i've 'dropped the ball' worming wise....they were due the week i was after sowing rape and now i'm suffering with last stragglers still untreated:banghead:

back at farm bitta tidying on our holiday barn as mrs spin catches up post ice cream run:)

3pm boy turned up to take me to lowestoft to fetch his nearly new vw 'up'.......on the journey down i made the following observations
1/ inland beet were wilting badly
2/to many roundabouts on norwich's northern distributor road....whats the point of 2 ish miles of dual carriageway then roundabout:banghead:
3/ two fisherman in a boat.....fishing right at the sewage treatment outlet other side of city:sick:
4/ few fields of horrible looking wheat east of the city:oops:
5/ only saw 2 combines working and 1 corn cart on road.....harvest looks like nothing to these big arable outfits......small doers seem extinct:(

we got to garage 4;30.....boy inside for ages:scratchhead:.....finally emerges and we both drive over the road for coffee and donuts at greggs(y):D......mid donut boy's phone rings....the dealer....havn't taken full deposit.....now boy knew this prior....you'd expect the dealer to know....i mean WTF were they doing:banghead:....i was just about to berate him when a large blob of jam hits my shirt :banghead:....i give up on my lecture:rolleyes:,,,,,after all how can you take a donut stained man seriously:rolleyes::D:D

back home HH is having another gathering c/w with small bonfire + bbq.....agin my better judgement but i'm 'outgunned'.....boy + lush 'in charge'

me with clean shirt ready to pounce if necessary;)

Excellent entry for today (y)

Agreed on the NDR roundabouts. They are also stupidly small and curvy for having two or three lanes.

For your esteemed readership, who may not know of wot you write, I take the liberty of attaching a Naawfuk news report - apparently there have been 54 accidents on it since the first bit opened in November 2017. Mind you, having watched the included video clip, some people's lane discipline is awful.

Glad to hear you were fortified with jammy donuts and a bit of takeaway on your shirt for emergencies on the way home :hungry:

Is the VW UP (does it give itself an exclamation mark? 🤔) white?
if so they look more like trainers than automobiles...

I clearly need to up my spotter game. I only recognise yellow ones, green ones, red ones, and those two-tone peely-wally* ones. 🤔

* really they are more of a snot-green but since 'snot' is a trigger word and Spins says he's got a clean shirt on to frighten The Boyfriend into compliance, 'peely-wally' will have to do instead.

There were arguments in the car about whether the MF was in fact a Case or if the Deutz was a John Deere. But thankfully both were going on the way home to allow confirmation....

so 'lesbians' are lexions?....and 'peely wally'.....claas in general :scratchhead:

anyhoo:rolleyes:.....coupla bitsa 'housekeepin' from yesterday.....forgot to mention the bat bridges over the NDR....i'd been puzzling but boy knew what they were(y)....seems a do they/don't they work debate:rolleyes:....also seeing those fisherman by the sewage plant reminded me why cromer crabs are so 'good'....it's the seaward sewage outlet at west runton:D:D

blink and you'll miss it:oops: ...the wheat next to me has gone.....i round up some confused snot and they traipse back to the field:D:D....decide to take rest of the morning off and have a late 'lay in'(y).....not to be:rolleyes:...as i retire the resta the household gets up.....boy rounds up the bonfire but puts some boxes on...cue smoke....cue neighbour BT complaining...i'm oblivious but just as i'm drifting off mrs spin arrives home...hears of BT and chastens me for not defending 'her little' boy:rolleyes:...FFS he's 6ft and black belt/numerous dans karate...i mean i'm old fat and toothless (still)...how am i more scary:banghead::banghead:...plus she used ti get upset when i did trim the neighbours up:banghead:.....you can't win:rolleyes:....she is scathing about BT though...'he's odd...next door neighbours gardener saw him running round the lawn in his underpants one morning'....probably cos i knicked his trousers😗

next HH had done her usual good job clearing up after her do:rolleyes:.....and had gone to work at pub:banghead:.....mrs spin cajoles me into helping carry chairs tables back in....but thats it...there's no rest/mooching for me so i decide to go pasture topping.....i've had to 'modify' my broken linkage😗....some chains+ d shackle lend support...it works and pasture topper + me chug along on my grazing marsh...it didn't get cut last autumn cos it was to wet and the alder took full advantage....K says it's good winter horse food:scratchhead:

my late dad's favourite film was 'ice cold in alex'....he would often say when we fixing something 'what would you do if you were in the desert?'.......i was often tempted to say 'not grow barley+ beet for a start'.....but i knew what he meant:)...i do often stretch the maxim to it's limits though:D

Another busy and productive day getting stuff done (y)

Matters arising:

1 Yes, Claas look peely wally. Well, to me anyway. 🤔 Definition of peely wally

2 There are also bat bridges (6 of 'em) over the Thetford bit of the A11 but back in 2015 they were reported as being a waste of £350k as the bats weren't using them so I was surprised to them on the NDR. Apparently the A11 bats were either no longer crossing the road, or flying too low amongst the traffic.

3 I have second thoughts about langoustine. Those big fat prawns are partial to the offerings from a sewage outlet, but they are so juicy and tasty and hard to resist. 🦐 :hungry:

4 Nothing too odd about nipping into the garden in your pants although I have never had my trousers nicked. Is there a story to the Stolen Trousers? Apologies if you've already told your dear readers, I think I must be too new here to have heard it. 😁

Thankyou for the combine video it has just sent my 3year old to sleep after a 2 hour long battle👍😳
My kids (22,27,29!!) glaze over as soon as I start talking about 🚌 buses or moisture meters...

Spin has such an interesting lifestyle that the odd bit of running around in your undergarments could be excusable or passed off as pacifying the snottage...

Only he can confirm - might work on HH or Cinders too...
Mrs Spin would probably laugh then have a mental picture of a cocktail sausage and two pickled walnuts...

God knows what Lush might make of it though....
