Any views on Dingwall store sale I looked at the online sale they were difficult to judge and with no weighing it was what the eye could make out. Some nice Ewe lambs making 110-120 would they be 40kg?. Over 800 km from us in Wales any body hauling down would it be viable?
The good ewe lambs would have been well over 40kg as was said earlier there is a few Welshmen come up for ewes and TJ and DR come up for lambs in the autumn . No problem to get them home the mart will hold them on the fields until Armstrongs’s have a load going down. I wasn’t there but they looked a good trade not silly . £120 for a good ewe Hogg well wintered would be fairly sensible in the current trade.

Based on the current fat trade if you can get a good, well grown ewe Hogg for £120 I think it would be money well spent. But who knows what the next 12 months will bring?! At least if you are buying for your own flock you can spread the cost over a few years.

The fat job being so good will I doubt be taking out the bottom end of the hoggs. This can only be good! 😁
