Extinction rebellion; what would you do?

Collect every piece of litter, photograph any damage, record high quality footage of any aggression and intimidation, and use it to demonstrate any double standards all over social media.

And if they behave and don't act like idiots, then there wont be any humiliating consequences for them:

As the field is not a RoW, I would be putting signs up warning that any trespassers will be escorted off your land using minimum legal force in line with civil law.

Advise the police that you will be doing this and request their presence to prevent trespassers causing a breach of the peace, and to prevent breaches of current covid regulations. The police should also be asked to provide you with support in keeping access to your property open for yourself, in case XR turn up in several vehicles which may block the roads in the area.

I'd also have someone there to film everything you and the trespassers do.

What's the biggest mains fencer you can get? Put up a two strand electric fence with no hand piece right up to the hedge. Sign on the gate with a warning of electric fence. If they can't get in how can they trespass?

Be nice if that worked....

It seems to me that it was a shame the Police were queried early... If the Sucklers were already there before that conversation, job done.

The woman I spoke to said if there are any problems call 999 and they'll send someone out, what would happen if I did might be another matter though!

I've been made aware that Extinction Rebellion are organising a "mass trespass" on Saturday from 12-2pm on one of my fields (it is advertised on Facebook with a picture of my field gate and the nearby car park for reference).

What would everyone do? I've spoken to the police on 101 for advice, they've suggested going down with family and asking them not to go on, I'm in two minds myself though, it's where we usually put the sucklers out and by then they might be out with the dry weather we are having, or to go down and join them, just to make sure they don't leave a big mess behind..... as above, what would you do???

See if you can get the car park closed ..

Firstly I'd ask for help from like minded people in your area.

If you can section off the area with barbedwire and electric fencing. Muck spread where you can .. etc.

Oh yeah .. video them and make sure you get their faces and car registrations.

Try the local Police commissioner.

Or if desperate half bury something metal .. and phone the bomb squad ...

There's plenty of unexploded ww2 mortars lying about anyway!

Suggest we find out who the leaders of this is, pay a visit to their gardens & give them a good walk over after all it's a protest on any private land isn't it?

One of the co-founders of climate change group Extinction Rebellion has been remanded into custody ahead of a weekend of planned action, police said.
Roger Hallam, 54, of Wandsworth, is among five people charged with conspiracy to cause criminal damage.

Having had a look at the fb post it doesn't look the sort of ground you'd be taking a muck spreader on ? Its only had 3 likes I don't think you'll be getting hordes. As said, if worried, contact xr farmers.

There is some decent land that I could get a muck spreader on, but much of it is a rocky hillside and a dammed lake lower down.

Make sure that all routes of access are barb wired such that they will have to cause damage in order to enter the land... then stand there & film them committing criminal damage. The moment any intimidation starts on their part - regardless of intent it becomes aggravated trespass & that's also a criminal offence!
