EU vaccine role out.

It’s a while back now but I recall one of the first celebrity catches in a group was Leicester City. Doesn’t seem to have set them back👍
Strange how it changes, the young certainly seem to be hit harder by it now than when some of my family had it, apart from being a bit washed up for a few days the only other problem was loss of smell and taste which doesn't seem to be a problem with the new strains.
A friend of mine still hasn't got hers back a year later.

Yes, most folk have had enough of the nonsense by now.

Ignore the biased, dramatized news reports, no point worrying about new mutations from India, what will be will be. The vaccines seem to provide good cover for those who take them so just enjoy your life and your health whilst you've got it.

Enough valuable time has been wasted.
Did it reach Skye? you seem very laid back about it. Here in Cumbria we were affected awfully, I know dozens who were infected, quite a few hospitalised, including a friend in his 40's who was in intensive care.
I reckon everybody knows someone or knows of someone who died of it and I have family with health issues that could cause a problem so I'm not going to apologise for my outlook on it.

Lived in India, they re not ones for over blowing stuff outside of cricket.
Also they have a very good understanding of pandemics due to low vaccine rates amoung the poor for chicken poks, measles etc. Had fella work for me had chicken poks about 3 days after arriving was put in lockdown, he snuck out one day and it wasn’t looked on very well. I’m just surprised this didn’t happen earlier tbh

Yes, of course it reached Skye.

So far there's been no immortals found in the Highlands (hoping I'll be the first of course) so we're all subjected to suffering death and disease here as well, maybe you believe your suffering is worse than mine but I think you'll find the grief for deceased loved ones is the same, whether somebody dies within 28 days of a positive test or not.

I don't want you to apologise for your outlook on it.

It was a genuine question as to whether it reached Skye, I thought an Island may have been isolated from it so sorry if it appeared patronising, that wasn't the intention.
Likewise with the death of loved ones, obviously I'm not claiming one person's grief is greater than anyone else's although I don't think I claimed that.

France begins its four-phase reopening from Monday, President Emmanuel Macron has told local newspapers. From Monday you can travel without restriction beyond the 10km (6 mile) current limit. Then from 19 May museums, cinemas and theatres will reopen and people can eat outdoors. On 9 June you can eat indoors, sport resumes outdoors with a health pass, the curfew is put back to 23:00, and foreign visitors can return with a health pass. The remainder of restrictions are set to be lifted on 30 June.

Now then Howard, would you rather be led by optimists or pessimists?

At least the French like many other EU countries were sensible enough by putting a distance travelled from home rule in allowing parts of the country to have some semblance of normality & business, contrast that with our own pillocks who have crucified large sections of business all over England just because of hot spots in cities where people on furlow couldn't care less!

No they are certainly not, but that is mainly because of delays in vaccination & the fact of open borders to Italy etc, their economy has suffered no where near as much as ours.
Locking down counties like Devon & Cornwall etc when there is virtually zero cases & has been like that for some time is total madness, any cases we do have are from people outside of the county travelling down, it would have been so much less harmful to restrict travel & open counties a few at a time.

PARIS, April 30 (Reuters) - All people in France aged 18 and over will be able to get COVID-19 vaccines from June 15 onwards, said French President Emmanuel Macron on his Twitter feed on Friday, as the country aims to ease its way out of its third COVID lockdown.

France is hoping that an accelerated, vaccination campaign will enable it to re-open more businesses, shops and other leisure activities.

This Wednesday 28 April 2021 (consolidated data), 14,900,784 people have been given the first dose of the vaccine in France, namely 22.20% of the population. 6,320,274 people have been given the second dose of vaccine, namely 9.40% of the population.
