Has to work better than what's on them, if you get grass wrapped around the one on the wagon it goes in in lumps.

Seen it done on single chops to encourage them to lift from a mowed row. It worked well.

i’ve thought about it for a few years, surely would help in big crops? I’d imagine it not too hard to retrofit off an old baler?

Bound to help yes. I’ve had a tractor drive up and down the rows in front of 30 foots before I lifted. Less chance of balls of grass plugging plus less stress,

Yes we plan on doing it to the 1100
I've seen a few lads have fitted jf 1060 crop rollers onto jf 1050's
I do prefer the look of the lely tornado type crop roller and the "finger" set up to encourage the material into the machine.

I would look to fit a roller/press like on the 1060
I agree, those things will only slow up a lump, some people run them high to just let the grass in. The less friction or obstacles the better. Although the intake on the 1100 must be pretty good for a lump of grass? A roller is def the way to go.
