Stamp duty ..Well its 5 million once its stocked/tracked/parlour.
I suspect it could be getting on for 10 years if I’m thinking of same placeHow long ago was it a dairy farm?
Get yerself 500 jerseys on an arla contract doing 5500 litres at 40ppl, soon adds up. I know, I’ve just done it!@Beef farmer can you give me some simple sums to make this farm work at £4million milking cows
Based on borrowing the full 5 million? No farm to sellGet yerself 500 jerseys on an arla contract doing 5500 litres at 40ppl, soon adds up. I know, I’ve just done it!
Its simple, your existing 400 cows and 000s arable will need to subsidise it when milk dips below a point. At 30p it will look okayBased on borrowing the full 5 million? No farm to sell
Shockingly obtaining a milk contract could (be the biggest problem to that farm going back into productionIts simple, your existing 400 cows and 000s arable will need to subsidise it when milk dips below a point. At 30p it will look okay
Would have to be an expansion rather than a new contract I suspect. Mind you I’ve no horse in this race anyway since husband maintains Scotland is too far to take the cows . Looks like it would be a useful place if you stuck a rotary in thoughShockingly obtaining a milk contract could (be the biggest problem to that farm going back into production
Aye and they’ll all have there ducks in a row ready for a go, known for some time it was coming on.lot of big dairy farms in that region will be after it?
Buy yourself a bit of land, we started with 20 acres 20 years ago, we’ve now managed to buy a fully functioning dairy farm in the land of milk and honey!Based on borrowing the full 5 million? No farm to sell
TBF Castle Douglas is a great town, especially if you like supporting independent businesses, still has auction mart within it, don’t think anyone would be disappointed living and farming in that areaWould have to be an expansion rather than a new contract I suspect. Oh I’m sure it is a very nice place to live and farm. Sadly he has a Sturgeon allergy and his land agent mate has convinced him that the Scottish government are basically going to take everyone’s land off them for a laughTBF Castle Douglas is a great town, especially if you like supporting independent businesses, still has auction mart within it, don’t think anyone would be disappointed living and farming in that area
I wouldn’t be trusting either lot, think they’re all desperate to get their mits on whatever money they can, Nicola would probably pay you a fortune to plant it all in trees for ‘carbon capture’Oh I’m sure it is a very nice place to live and farm. My guess is it will be a 7 + month winter where it is
