President Obama was, by his own measures, pretty much a failure as President; I have no doubt he is an intelligent fellow and certainly is a fair orator, but so was Joe Kennedy, and he was not the best US Ambassador we've had from either our own or a US perspective.

It's probably a good policy for all governments to send ambassadors to countries they actually like.
