The Dromone pick up hitch is forever jamming, the shaft that the hook sits on turns and jams the release lever so that when I want to drop a trailer off the hook I cannot pull the lever in the cab to pull the pin out of the hole through the hook.

Anyone else had this? what is the cure?.

Is the pin bent?

Now Then..
Is this the older type with 2 hooks to hold the hitch up & 2 pins to hold it in or the newer type with the single pin to hold it up & in??

How old is it out of interest?

Dud the early ones have a grease nipple?

We've only ever had issues with 1 JD hitch and after the lad left we've never had to touch another latch system for whatever he was doing with it

That looks tidy enough..
I would check that the rockshaft height limit is set correctly and that Draft is off.
Lift the rockshaft to max.
Check the lift rods when at the top, they shouldn't be excessively tight.
Watch the pin as an assistant operates the cab lever, it should move back freely (yes, this is your problem).
Once it's moved a little, with a torch, look through the round pin hole at the relationship of the hook elongated hole, does it have the required room around it for the passage of the pin.
It's also possible that the mechanism inside the housing is bent causing the problem..

Also mind the roll pin that goes through the shaft inside the cap hasn't worked it's way out. Goes through the dog and rotating shaft inside it. If it breaks and sticks out a little it jams the action of the dog inside...... I found that out after I had bought a new pin and there was nothing wrong with it.
