Are you sure you can’t take the valve core out? Just seems odd. Perhaps change the valve to one you can remove

I’m on Zwift not as much as I would like at the mo, hopefully get Christmas out the way and I can start some training. I prefer outside but dark night riding is definitely not my thing.Well I've done the deed and succumbed to something I never thought I would do... I have embraced virtual cycling!
I have bought a Wahoo Kickr Bike and signed up to Zwift and I love it!
This is by no means a replacement for getting out there in the elements but merely a tool for keeping my fitness up.
Which leads me to ask: are there any other TFFers out there using Zwift?
If you're up for it we could start a virtual TFF group ride?I’m on Zwift not as much as I would like at the mo, hopefully get Christmas out the way and I can start some training. I prefer outside but dark night riding is definitely not my thing.
Have a place for ride London in May so definitely need to do some work

It's not about being the fastest, just riding for the craic of it!Could do, definitely wouldn’t be the fastest. I’m away for a few days next week, perhaps after that.

Yes I did a fair bit of research before doing the deed. The Wahoo just seemed to tick more boxes imo. The Wahoo App for the bike is fantastic ie: bike set up, gear ratios, even brand selection, Campagnolo, Sram, Shimano etc.I keep looking at training bikes. How’s the Wahoo? I was considering a Tacx as it’s a fair bit cheaper. I’m sure you looked at various options, do you think the wahoo is the best one?
I can see the advantages of the stand alone bikes but the training effect and zwift experience is pretty good with a smart turbo trainer. I share a zwift subscription with junior and our wahoo kickr core has been very good, we’ve had 600hrs trouble free over a couple of years. They cost about £600. My only problem is that junior races on it so they won’t let me join races at my ability level!! Cat A races don’t last long for me!!I keep looking at training bikes. How’s the Wahoo? I have had a Tacx smart trainer for about five years and it’s very good. I get through BB and headset bearings like there’s tomorrow though, stress on the BB and copious sweating corroding the headset bearings.I can see the advantages of the stand alone bikes but the training effect and zwift experience is pretty good with a smart turbo trainer. Luckily I am not bothered about racing!! The few seconds it takes the rest of the field to disappear aren’t particularly enjoyableIf he’s that good he is going to have to get his own subscription

Sounds like a bit of a cop out from your LBS for an easy £15 imo.Valves with a non removable core seems to be a thing, I asked in local bike shop and they said they'd patch/plug hole and refill with sealant for 15 quid so just left it with them
Yep! That was another reason why I went down the Wahoo Kickr Bike route. The wear and tear on your bike is enormous whilst hooked up to a turbo trainer.I have had a Tacx smart trainer for about five years and it’s very good. One could always put a towel over the handle bars. That does work. My headset bearings need replacement ATM but they are 3 years old. I don’t consider that too bad.Yep! Heard a horror story the other day about a guy out cycling and his bars collapsed due to salt corrosion from sweating whilst his bike was on a smart trainer. Doesn't bear thinking about!
Had had a wattbike for 10 months using with zwift, I think it’s great, not cheap, but no faffing with bikes and wife and eldest daughter can use as well. Bit lacking in motivation recently should maybe try some of the real footage apps like roovy.
I love the team TTs on Zwift. Normally my team only has 4 or 5 in it, so the pressure is always on. As you say, highly addictive.I've an atom here for over 2 years. It's great- only used on Zwift.
No faffing with sensors, always reliable, and ready to go, and worth almost what I paid for it new.
Work has got in the way of me doing much on it last month or so- really need to get back in to a routine.
The team time trials on Zwift are very addictive, and well worth getting in to. look for Atom Racing team on Facebook for details
