Hogg trade definitely seems too be having a January lull… no one has rung for sheep this week. Roll on February
I thought @muleman had been drawing his SwalesI hope you are happy. I had just had a gobfull of tea when I scrolled down too this! Near bloody choked!
I'm the idiot who has 115 head of them in sheds, and really has know idea what he's doing!
[/QUOTE said:how long have they been in ?? There’s fair coats on them be carful on that ration without their backs clipped out
You need to build them up onto that ration that’s why they are lose in their dung3 weeks, was going to clip them but waiting for new battery pack for clippers.
What diet would achieve this, we are currently feeding 50/50 maize/red clover plus 2kg crimp a head in TMR form, am worried starch will make the fat, rather than grow
AA heifers will nearly fatten on good silage aloneWe're separating Angus bullocks and heifers now for finishing. Heifers were just getting to fat before they were finished. Both on good silage but bullocks on a finishing blend and the heifers stop on a rearer nut.
Going dead weight they seemed to like them young for Tesco and M & S job so a sniff of corn just bumped them on a bit. But now back to live weight they don't mind so you could probably get away with it.AA heifers will nearly fatten on good silage alone
Cattle bought approximately a year ago are leaving a profit, but unless feed drops considerably or the finished price increases by at least £100 there’s going be some tearsWasn't there but I'm told Cattle in Hfd yesterday were serious money .(stores)
Where are you selling your aa heifers? There not really live market animalGoing dead weight they seemed to like them young for Tesco and M & S job so a sniff of corn just bumped them on a bit. But now back to live weight they don't mind so you could probably get away with it.
They go to Bakewell.Where are you selling your aa heifers? There not really live market animal
Its like smacking your head off a brick wall. All you get back is excuses. These finishers are going to have to start telling the processors that the price is going to have to go up if they want to continue getting a supply of beef. It certainly can’t be knocked off the store price because the breeders need everything they get.
It the farmers that let them have it they don’t steal it .They will manage the situation like they always have - pay the farmers just enough but not enough if u know wat I mean, it's wat happens when the job gets in to few hands & unfortunately it's not gonna change We're stuck with it.......
I didn't wanna say it bunter.......!!It the farmers that let them have it they don’t steal it .
I was told that last week but haven't heard anything else since. What are the others like. I think pickstocks 4.05.Are Dunbia on 3.92 for cattle?
Linden 4.12, but more or less stopped taking my type of cattle, so academic.I was told that last week but haven't heard anything else since. What are the others like. I think pickstocks 4.05.
