As I put earlier, Poland are to take Vat off fuel among other things. One of the big advantages of leaving the EU was supposed to be the UK could take Vat off electric and gas, as Poland proves this was another lie, it could have been done anyway.
Why is this not being done with the doubling of electric in the uk?
Another Boris lie?

Surely not, you are not trying to tell me that Boris and his apologists would lie to us, I am deeply shocked by your suggestion🤣

EU rules on vat are pretty strict, countries have only certain things they can do, easiest way for people to save money on fuel is to put more clothes on like we did as kids, some energy companies did suggest that here and had to apologise as it upset people. f**king worlds gone mad.

Nicely ignoring the fact that Boris lied. Quelle surprise.
The uk has a reduced rate of vat on domestic fuel, however without trawling through the whole directive which applies to poland I'm not sure they can reduce it to zero, the rules are very complicated and while I did read a precise some time ago cant remember too many details, however the basic rules are standard rate cant be less than 15% reduced rate not less than 5 and a few things can be zero rated.
I doubt boris or many mps ( in any country )have a great understanding of vat rules . Poland is currently doing lots of things the eu dont like this might be another

Because the savings by taking vat off aren't targeting the people most affected by fuel price increases
VAT is only 5% here , so the saving is naff all

The changes will be made to universal credit .

Poland are in the EU. Bojo and his mates said the UK could not reduce the Vat on domestic energy while a member of the EU.
"Vote leave to get rid of Vat on household energy. " Was the slogan
This was a lie. ( Along with many others) Poland has just proved it.
Why doesn`t Macron reduce VAT on domestic energy to 0%?

Because the french government control energy prices as they own its production 80% nuclear electric and is currently running on gas stored since last summer bought at lower prices, It is called "energy security" bit like "food security"
Changing the subject only slightly but still on topic, were you aware that there is a shortage of clowns in NI as they have all migrated to the EU ?:D:D:eek::eek:
