But they have to buy raw materials and energy. I think all firms connected to livestock are in for a bad time.

A feed rep told me they are now spending £21per ton. electricity alone, and have to turn mill off peak times, i wouldnt like to own a feed mill .

Put it this way , the particular rep im quoting works for a very very sucsefull self made feed miller , if their was milage in pannels hed own the panel company.
He maybe has the farm as collateral
Somebody will get rich on carbon credits but it won’t be most farmers more like most land owners like usual and tenants won’t see a penny if anything they’ll get a rent reviewA feed rep reckons we are soon to be rich beyond our wildest dreams due to carbon credit payments, i dont share his optimism.

We were talking about this today. Not too many folks locally liking the idea of cows at the moment but it would seem that the likelihood of breeding cattle being any cheaper is unlikely
