The war in Ukraine...

That's the reality of war, very different to murder, rape, torture etc of prisoners. That's a war crime, you can't compare the two.
For a start rapists should be shot no question, as for murder if Ukraine publicly arm civilians out of uniform then it gets more complicated, as for torture the Americans seemed to think water boarding was perfectly acceptable so maybe they have set the standard for others to follow, I guess that's the reality of following America's example on how to fight a war!

I suppose in the cause of balance we ought to be able to see the remains of the young Russian soldiers in the many more than 1,000 plus tanks & armoured vehicles that we all love watching being blown into so many bloody pieces, not sure that would be a very pretty sight to see & watch, we are being manipulated a little in only seeing one sides casualties in this war & before you start I'm still not a Putin supporter!
They wouldn’t get blown up if they went back to Russia
how the hell can you have sympathy for them

There's plenty of stories of murdering civilians, there's a court case on one going on right now. I'm not sure how anybody can defend those savages.

I have no sympathy for Putin but if you are a soldier & refuse to follow orders you're just as likely get shot by your own side, as always it's bloody politicians & the barstewards behind them that need shooting not the young men of both countries.
The US instigated this mess & the ones who arranged for this to happen should be hung in public, Putins an evil prat but as the West found in Iraq if you march your army to the border to scare someone enough to do as you wish then you have no where else to go if they don't play ball!

How come it's ok for us to bomb the sh!t out of Iraqi's & Afghanistan's civilians as well as many others & that's fine no problem no case to answer but if the Russians do it it's murder, talk about fecking hypocrites!

The Russians are bombing civilians and are getting stick for that but those basterds are accused of mass murder of unarmed civilians, torture and multiple rapes. There is a report of a one year old boy dying of his injuries after being raped. Just think of that. let it sink in.
Then stop making yourself look stupid by saying they can do that because others have done it, it's absolutely sickening what's going on there.

I totally agree, but don't believe everything you read in reports as facts until proven, I'm no fan of Putin or the Russians but I simply can't stand stupid hypocrites who distinguish between what we do in wars & what the Russians do, both commit atrocities don't kid yourself they don't, it's just we prefer to think of ourselves as angels & so do the press.
As I say I would hang all those that instigated this but there would be just as many Americans as Russian leaders with ropes around their necks.

Sorry Brian but you really must try to distinguish between targetted aggression towards civilians and those caught in the crossfire or used as human shields. If you want a highly contentious example of UK wrongdoing you might well question the antics of Bomber Harris.
I am afraid that your argument is ill informed, twisted and abhorent. In any war propaganda is an important weapon and both sides will use it wherever possible but the Russians have form and towards the end of WW2 many Germans, both troops and civillians, sought sactuary with British/ and American forces to shelter themselves from the Russians.

Sorry Bob but war is war & no two armies fight it the same way, Russians maybe don't value life as we do given their history but when you consider the damage they are doing to residential areas it's surprising far more civilians aren't being killed, I've no doubt given the losses & injuries the Russians are taking that surviving Russians aren't beyond crossing a line they shouldn't.
Russia will make sure that what's left of Ukraine won't be worth joining NATO & that's always been their aim, Ukraine's fecked & the pretence of West's weapons saving them will simply result in far more destruction.
If you invite a fox into the chicken run don't be surprised at the outcome!
As for WW2 given the millions of Russians killed desperately fighting the Germans with not much more than rifles I'm not surprised the Germans wanted British protection.

Ah I'm with you now, we'll accept the murder, torture and rape because the poor souls that invaded another country have been getting a bit of a pummelling.

It is always a good thing to have a proper defence. Not least because it will make sure that someone is not incorrectly convicted but, amongst other things, to ensure that a convicted offender can't cry foul. (y)

Crumbs, probably not a wise move to upset the Israelis. They are usually not tardy in shooting back.
Apart from his stated intent to prop up Assad it appears that every terrorist group from every country in the region seems tobe involved with destabilising Syria. We hear very little of what is going on there but it sounds like another Afghanistan with one rogue governemt supporting another against an array of terrorists who are difficult to identify.
