I think you mean workers received some furlough money while we continued to pay their pension contributions etc whilst closed, if you close a country down then either the government pays part of their wages or they become unemployed
Govt paid their wages , you didn't , did you furlough yourself ? plenty did

Which is why the depth of feeling was surprising, given the very patriotic crowd
Given the make up of a crowd at such an event, I would doubt that anybody went and stood for hours in anticipation of an opportunity to boo Boris as a political gesture.
I would think it was more a crowd who were there for a great day out and in true British style, the banter and mood took over and Bojo was greeted as the villain in a true pantomime fashion.
Nothing to see here.
