I rarely get to post on this thread, but put 15 stores through Exeter this morning. Ruby reds, 11 heifers which weren’t as good as I’d have liked and 4 bullocks. Averaged £900 each at around 28 months and never had anything other than grass. They wouldn’t win any prizes but at least COP was as low as it could have been.

I think he means the family size pig units , the bnb pigs are massive company’s not just family pig producer.
Had lorry and trailer out of Exeter 3 weeks ago going on well like the ones out of dairy cows and some Devon reds!

Needs to lift 25p now and 25p again before christmas or there is going to be carnage in the beef supply.
Well I don’t really know. There seems to be a lot less farms keeping pigs of their own and if they do now it’s usually in the hands of the big ones.
Its coming for cattle then sheep , sheep are fortunate the ethnics keep it right bit cattle ….. its going …
They dont seem to realise that they would actually save themselves money in the long run by paying more now and restoring some confidence . Milk buyers seem to have realised what the beef firms havent.
The amount of suckler cows being culled must be very high I’m intending pressing on ahead if possible
Some are some arnt who will win is anyones guess , doubt cow numbers dropping too much as i think them with will go more, who knows but fat cattle marketed live is hanging by a thread id say .
Same here, was sorting out bread/biscuit contract for winter today.only did summer one 2 month ago.

The ones I know have done very well out of pigs bought farms with them
One lad has sold a third of his cows another two lots going this week off another two farms it just goes on
