Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Nothing gets me more wound up and stressed than mechanicing. Except inspections of course… 😆

fortunately between the farm, dad and uncles we keep a full time mechanic. Thankfully he’s very good at fixing pretty much anything
A full time mechanic🥳🥳🥳. That would be my idea of heaven. Yesterday we had 1 small field to bale and wrap. I normally have the loader tractor in the field to load the trailer and the Weidemann in the yard to unload for wrapping.

Went to start the loader tractor and the alternator fell to bits. So had to go back and forward with the Weidemann which needed another person. On the 5th load with one left the Weidemann conked with the spike stuck in a top bale on the trailer. Turned out the cable to the sensor on the seat had dropped onto the manifold and shorted everything out. Got it going by 10pm but didn't get the bales stacked until this morning.

Then my neighbour who uses my baler to do mine and his phoned up to say he thinks the head gaskets gone on his John Deere 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩

A few years ago I cut about 30 acre and the pto shaft bearing collapsed on the tractor changed tractor and the next one blew the seals on the hydraulic pump. Dealer had the seals but couldn’t find them as lightning had taken the computers out. Next morning we had a long cesarean on a cow by then it all got wet. Fixed tractors when leading in the radiator split on the loadall and bale wrapper blew a pipe.
Both tractors had been muckspreading for a week before but couldn’t cut grass

Trouble is it takes a fair few lambs or even store cattle to pay for the repairs 🙄
